Equipment & maintenance
Model your machines, keep maintenance on schedule, and handle problem reports from the floor.
The Equipment module is the registry of everything with a motor, a laser, or a nozzle — and the maintenance program that keeps it running.
Machines, types, and fleets
Equipment is organized by type (with hierarchy — “3D Printers → FDM → Prusa MK4”) and grouped into fleets of identical machines. Types carry the shared facts: required credentials, icons, images, and default schedules; individual machines carry their own serial numbers, location, and service state. Fleet-level editing means updating “all twelve Prusas” is one change, with inheritance you can override per machine.
Service state
Each machine is in service, down for maintenance, or out of service. The state shows everywhere it matters — lists, the public catalog, the mobile app, and on the machine’s controller display itself, which hides its session QR and refuses starts while the machine is down. Staff can mark a machine down with one tap from the mobile app when something breaks mid-shift.
Maintenance
Recurring maintenance tasks (interval- or usage-based) generate work with due dates and assignees; one task can carry multiple assignees, and technicians can hold their own maintenance calendars. Completion history accumulates on the machine’s record, so “when did we last grease the ways” has an answer.
Problem reports from the floor
Members and staff can report an issue on a machine from the mobile app — typically by scanning the machine’s QR label. Reports land in a queue with a dashboard badge for the staff who handle them, and can take the machine down for maintenance on the spot. Whether members see the report option is a per-space switch.
QR labels and logging
Every machine can carry a QR label linking to its record — scan to see status, report an issue, or (with controllers) start a session. Labels are designed and printed from the platform’s label editor. Machine usage sessions accumulate on the record, giving you real utilization data per machine and per fleet.
