Who we are
MakerOps is a product of Atlanticus Innovations. It provides operations software for makerspaces, university labs, and community workshops — inventory, equipment, training, scheduling, and communication tools, delivered as a web application and a companion mobile app.
In most cases MakerOps processes personal information on behalf of the makerspace or institution you belong to ("your organization"). Your organization decides what information to collect about its members and how long to keep it; MakerOps stores and processes that information under its instructions. For questions about your data in a specific makerspace, your first contact is that organization.
Information we process
- Account information — name, email address, and role, typically created for you by your organization.
- Activity within your organization — training completions and credentials, equipment usage and check-ins, shift schedules and time-clock records, inventory actions, event signups, and messages or comments you post.
- Content you add — photos, signatures on waivers, form responses, and maintenance notes (including notes you dictate; dictation is handled by your device's own speech recognition and we receive only the resulting text, never the audio).
- Device information for app features — a push-notification token if you enable notifications, and basic device identifiers needed to deliver app updates and offline access credentials.
What we don't do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not show advertising and do not share data with ad networks.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- The mobile app's camera, microphone, Bluetooth, and photo access are used only for the features that ask for them (scanning labels, dictating notes, offline equipment unlock, attaching photos) and never in the background.
Service providers
MakerOps runs on a small set of infrastructure providers that process data solely to operate the service: Amazon Web Services (hosting, email delivery, SMS delivery), Expo (mobile push-notification delivery and app updates), and Anthropic (the model behind “Ask the shop” and product-data enrichment — it receives the question and the workspace’s public inventory list, never member records). These providers do not use your information for their own purposes.
Text messaging and mobile information
If you opt in to text messages, your mobile number and SMS consent are used only to send the operational messages described in our SMS terms — waiver signing links, tour and session reminders, and account notifications from your makerspace.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time.
Retention and deletion
Information is retained while your organization's account is active, according to its settings and instructions. When you leave an organization — or when an organization leaves MakerOps — its administrators control removal of member records. To request deletion of your personal information, contact your organization's administrator, or reach us directly and we will coordinate with them.

Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to member data is scoped per organization and per role, and administrative actions are audit-logged.
